National Infertility Awareness Week

April 24 – 30 is National Infertility Awareness Week.  Did you know that 1 in 8 women and men are diagnosed with infertility?  Chances are someone you know well has struggled with this, perhaps without your knowledge.

I have to share (again) my most favorite article ever on Infertility Etiquette, found here on the Resolve web site.  It lists everything  you need to know about what to say and what not to say to those who are dealing with infertility.

Even though Andy and I were able to get pregnant (with a lot of assistance), we are still infertile.  We have two frozen embryos, but they have less of a chance of working than a ‘fresh’ cycle.  I may have to undergo another round of IVF to extract more eggs.  It may not work.

I may never conceive a baby the ‘normal’ way.  The bambino might be my only chance to give birth to a baby.  I think he will be that much more precious to us because he may be our one and only!

Unfortunately, I know of several people who are currently undergoing fertility treatments, trying to figure out their next step, or pursuing adoption.  You know who you are and my heart goes out to you!  Please keep all of those dealing with infertility in your thoughts and prayers!
