resolveThis week is National Infertility Awareness Week, which is very near and dear to my heart.  You can read more about infertility on the Resolve web site.  I hadn’t visited the site recently but I see they now have an online support community.  I also found this interactive map where you can see how your state stacks up regarding the number of Resolve support groups, fertility doctors, and laws requiring insurance coverage for infertility.  I also noticed there is an official support group that meets in Sewickley.  Talking to others going through similar trials is invaluable!  I encourage anyone dealing with infertility to reach out and know that you’re not alone.

And for those of you who have a friend or relative unable to conceive, read this:  25 Things To Say (and Not To Say) to Someone Living with Infertility.  Read and re-read!

I personally know five kids who were conceived via IVF.  Five families who were blessed with a baby they weren’t sure they were ever going to have.  My heart also goes out for those who are still waiting to be a parent, struggling with infertility, or waiting for an adoption to take place.
