Good News Day

Tomorrow is the day of my egg retrieval! I found out the news yesterday. We actually came really close to having the IVF cancelled. As of last Friday, I did not have enough follicles to continue. Luckily there was a big rally over the next two days and by Sunday a bunch of little ones had caught up. If everyone could send good thoughts and prayers over the next few days, we would really appreciate it.

The injections were not bad at all. It wasn’t difficult to pack a cooler and ice pack in the trunk of the car in case we didn’t make it home in time. The blood work has torn apart my arms and was beginning to hurt. Andy said it doesn’t look very bad, but of course I’m over-dramatic. I wear my track marks like battle scars! The worst part of this whole process was having a monitoring appointment at Magee every single morning. I had to get up at 5:00am every day for over a week.  Not fun.  Complaining aside, everything will be more than worth it if the IVF works!

I have some wonderful news, my friend Lisa gave birth to a son this morning, Dominic James. I hope this is a good omen for me!
