Weekend Update

We were indoors most of the weekend due to colder temperatures.  And snow!  Everything was covered when we got up Sunday morning.  I’m so done with snow.

I took some pictures of the kids playing around the house this weekend.

Tristan being silly.

He got together this tea party all by himself.

Tools!  Delaney has been figuring out toys a lot more lately.  Use the tools, pushing cars, etc.

I love this one!

Still trying to figure out this tool box…

The weather was nicer on Friday so I had a chance to power wash our “new to us” climber/slides.  We put it together and the kids love it!  Delaney was even going down the big slide (with our help, of course.)  I think it will be a great addition to our backyard this summer.  The red pieces are faded and I considered painting them, but I’m not sure all the time and energy is worth it.

One last thing.  We have a talking/moving Elmo that has been sitting in a closet for a year.  Neither Tristan nor Delaney were a fan of it.  They were terrified, actually.  I brought it out again yesterday and Delaney was still scared of it.  Tristan was more curious though and warmed up to Elmo after a while.  Elmo tells stories and moves around when you push buttons on his belly, feet, and back.

Tristan even picked Elmo up and quickly put him into the shopping cart.  He was pushing it around wildly which bumped the buttons so Elmo was talking and waving his arms around.  It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, Elmo flying by in the cart looking like he was yelling and gesturing for help!  Andy didn’t find it as funny as I did, but I couldn’t stop laughing.

Elmo is still on the “I’m not sure about you” list.  When he was done playing with him, Tristan put him in the entryway, behind the coat rack, face down.  You can never be too safe with toys that come to life.

Delaney actually partitioned herself off from Elmo using the ottoman or sat on me the entire time. She was even a little uncertain of mommy afterwards since she had been fraternizing with the red devil.

I can confirm that shopping cart Elmo is the funniest thing Candice has ever seen. Delaney was not amused…

The red devil DOES sound like the funniest thing of all TIME! Poor DeeDee caught in the cross fire. I am going to need to see this in person. hahah
