36, 37, 39 Weeks

Today I’m 39 weeks, 2 days, the same number of days along when I had Tristan last year.  So we’re moving into uncharted territory after today!

At my latest appointment last week I was 1.5 cm dilated.  I’ve gotten conflicting information from different doctors on how long they’ll let me go before they induce, so I hope to get more solid info this week.

I have good days and bad.  I can’t complain because I’ve had so much less pain than I had with Tristan, but the last few weeks haven’t been entirely comfortable.  I’ve had a few days of pretty steady contractions every 10 to 15 minutes (especially the days Hurricane Sandy blew through) but they eventually slow down and stop.  I think the most uncomfortable part with that is the head rush that I get when they’re stronger.

This week I’ve had more nausea and a general unwell feeling.  I feel a lot better in the morning but it goes downhill as the day goes on.  I’ve been taking a lot of baths in the jacuzzi tub lately which makes me feel better.  I really have to watch what I do during the day; too much activity makes my evenings and nights miserable.

I still can’t believe we’re having another baby!  Sometimes it catches me off guard.  We now have the infant seat bases in our cars so it’s a physical reminder that sometime soon there will be an extra person hitching a ride with us.

36 Weeks – Wearing a jumble of clothes.  Non-maternity lounge pants, Gap maternity tank, and a sweater shrug.

37 Weeks – All from The Gap

39 Weeks – As you can see, we missed 38 weeks.  :(  Unfortunately it rained every evening and we kept waiting for a chance to go outside.  Then the time change happened and it’s dark by the time Andy gets home from work.  So pictures had to move inside!
