Like an Animal

We’re working on potty training with Tristan. It’s a battle of attrition – he’s slowly wearing way at our sanity/patience. At this point, I’m not sure who’s going to win… Sometimes, when you ask him if he needs to potty it’s like a trigger word that releases the flood gates. He’ll suddenly realize that he *does* need to potty, and he better start working on it right now!

So, as we were outside enjoying the nice weather on Easter and Candice asked him if he needed to Potty, she made an executive decision that there was no time to take shoes off and go in the front door – instead she ran into the back yard with him. I thought maybe they were going to make it to the bathroom just inside the garage so he didn’t have to take his shoes off… Tristan came back very excited and told me. “I peed in the grass, like an animal! Come see, Daddy”. No thanks buddy – I believe you.

It’s a good thing Mommy takes all the calls from daycare. She can handle any upcoming incidents during outside time.
